My name is Joanne, I am the founder and owner of Birmingham Ghosts and Hauntings U.K, or for short BGAH.
I've always been interested in the paranormal, ghosts in particular. I guess it all started when I was very young, living in what only could be described as a haunted house in Harborne ( I will tell you about this house and my experience whilst living there in the STORIES page.)
When I was a teenager I left Britain and moved to the USA. I lived in North Carolina, home to the 82nd Airborn Division( Fort Bragg ) I was married to a soldier at the time, and we lived in NC for over a year before moving to New york, not far from Niagara Falls. Needless to say that after 8yrs+, I decided to come home, back to Birmingham.
Over the past few years I've been searching the internet, looking for a website dedicated to Birmingham and the paranormal. I was astonished to find very little on the subject for this area of the West Midlands, so I decided to start my own website for this purpose. I want the opportunity to research Birmingham's secret past, and to give people helpful information on the paranormal history of this great city of ours. I think it's about time that Birmingham got a look in! Hopefully it will be a success ( fingers crossed )
I am looking for local people to contribute and to put Birmingham on the paranormal map, it's about time! Don't you think?
I'm also an Artist in my spare time, not that I have much time these days! My preffered medium is oil. Some of my work has been on display in restaurants in Cornwall. I've added some of my work for you to see what I get up to when I'm not out investigating the paranormal.
I used to work for the NHS in various areas. My last post was as a Radiography Assistant in one of Birmingham's hospitals. I have also made signiture teddy bears, designed by myself and sold in the USA to collectors.
