Red House Glass Cone

Date of Investigation: 14th September 2007

Investigators Present: Joanne, Lynnette, Jane, Scott, Gemma, Paul, Lyndie, Tony, Pam and Tina.

We arrived at the location at 8:00pm; the team had a tour of the location and used this time to decide which areas were to be investigated. We had access to the cone and surrounding area's plus some area's that were not usually open to the public. The cone has been the site of many audible anomalies and visual sightings in the past although the team were not aware of this prior to the investigation.

The team firstly set about taking base reading and still photo's and familiarising themselves with the surroundings. The first rooms to be investigated were to be the offices, we split up into smaller groups and each group went into separate offices. We all had very different experiences ranging from audible knocks and bangs to seeing strange shadows moving about. The name Fran was picked up in the office area and the idea that this area had at one time been the scene of a fire; another small group also saw a strange black shadow moving around and had the name Dean. It was felt that people in the offices today would often see people walking into the offices but when they look there would be no one there. The names Mary Jane Elway and Jonah or Joe Elway seem to be of importance here.

The investigations then moved to the main museum area. The museum is split into many areas and we held vigils in them all, this was done as a group and as smaller groups. In one part of the main cone itself four separate people in the group reported having a pain in the left hand side of there head and it was very intense and sudden, one of these people also felt it could be attached to the image she picked up of a man being hit on a side of his head with a glass blowing pipe. During the course of the evening a few people reported that they felt something touch them either on their hands or head, also people could here distant singing lots of names were picked up as were accidents, children seemed to be connected to the accidents. One whose father was badly burnt and another named Sam who was crushed whilst unloading the barges, at one point during calling out one team member asked a child to go to someone in the group as it seemed they were upset and this person had a temperature drop around her of 3 degrees Celsius. The names of Alexander Koreshev a Russian man and a large Irish man named Roger seemed to be very strong in the cone area.

A lot of people reported feeling unsteady on there feet at this property almost like they had been drinking or spinning round. One team member had a bad experience in here and had to leave she had a sharp head pain and felt very ill. The names Richard, Ernie, Emm and William Haynes were picked up in this area.

One of the workshops off the cone area seemed particularly active on this visit and people saw shadows moving the name Brian or Brett was picked up and also the name Harry Jennings. People reported feeling very uneasy in this area and hearing audible breaths and knocks.

The tunnels under the cone had a very strange feeling to them also. A child’s presence was very strong here and the temperature was varying greatly . One member also felt a scratch on her face and had a pen mark on it. The sound of scuttling was heard by a couple of members too.

After spending a lot of time in this area with each of the groups spending some time in each of the area's we moved to the upper levels and the roman rooms and old showrooms.

Two of the team members earlier in the evening had been through this area and had a very unnerving experience of knowing someone was following them. One team member was extremely emotional and felt like crying hysterically, she felt a woman in here had suffered terribly. On this visit the team went to the rear room and did a circle we had some apparently responsive knocking but as it was a wooden floor this cannot be confirmed due to the room cooling. The name Joe was picked up again as was the name Charlie. It was felt that Joe was possibly a child. The two observers outside the circle both heard the chains in the main cone be moved. The group we had left in the cone were seated on a bench and were experiencing wild temperature fluctuations and one of the group saw an image of a very angry man coming towards them , they all felt that unnerved they had to leave. The group in the upper rooms moved to the front room and held a vigil it was felt that there were energies in this room but it was difficult to get them to step forward. One group member had extreme pain in her leg and head and was struck by severe nausea the session was called to an end.

It was felt by all members that this location has so much more to offer and we would like to offer our sincere thanks to Mr Adrian Durkin of Dudley Museums for all his help and support in arranging this event. Also we would like to thank the Red House Glass Cone for giving us the permission to attend.

We hope to visit again in the future.
