Date of Investigation :26th August 2007

Investigators Present : Team members: Joanne, Lyndie, Julie,Milton, Paul,Pam and Lynnette

Team Guests : Jane, Scott and Gemma

We were also joined by Richard and four staff members.

Then team arrived at about 11:30 pm and after the pub was closed Richard gave us a tour so people could familiarise themselves with the surroundings. The group started off in the main seating area and conducted a circle. During this time a lot of names were picked up and also events. The cirlce was also very emotional and three people had to leave the circle.

People in the group felt an intermittent breeze travelling round the room and no cause could be found for this.Several people in the group also later reported having their hair either stroked or touched.

The names picked up in this area were: George, two different men named William,Amy Turner , Nora, Frederick Wallis, Harry Smith,Prince Rupert, King Charles 1, Mrs Etkins, Oliver Cromwell,Elizabeth,Robert,Mary,Henry,Albert.

It was also believed that an elderly man who lost his legs in the war visited here and had a connection to a blacksmith. This blacksmith was responsible for beating a young man.

This area was a very significant area during the night and was very active. Nearly all of these names and events including dates that were picked up have actually been verified through the historical research carried out.

At this point after a break a small group went down to the cellar and the others split into two groups each in a room in the other bar area. Both groups tried glass divination and had some success although it was felt that the spirits were not stepping forward easily . One group had an elderly lady named Edna who was there to visit someone in the group and also had the image of a teenage boy being punished/beaten for being drunk at work. His name was Thomas. The other group had the same sort of difficulties but had some success with a man being picked up but it seemed that a lot of the energies were drawing us downstairs to the cellar.

The small group that had gone into the cellar had all felt the same ominous feeling upon entering. A team member saw a Pike -Man here walking up and down his name was John and he was from the year 1643.Also she picked up on a young boy aged about 12 who's name was Thomas. Could this be the same spirit other group members had picked up. The group all heard a well defined dragging noise although no cause for this could be found .Due to the nature of the surroundings there were numerous knocks and bangs but these should be discounted due to the amount of pipework present. The main sensation was one of fear and trepidation.

It was later after a well needed break that the team decided to all go into the cellar. Everyone had a feeling of dread and felt as though someone was watching them. The main presence immediately felt was that of a man who was not happy with women being there, and not showing him the respect he deserved .This man was extremely angry with the fact that we weren't quivering with fear at his presence, but would not communicate with anyone in the group. A boy was picked up in the room but was not steeping forward due to the overpowering presence of this man. It was felt that this man worked in the pub and was very likely the publican, the name Geoffrey Gibson was picked up.The names Sam and Tom were also picked up by another team member, this member also felt that the building had been used as a hospital in the past.

Cameras were acting up in the cellar with them switching off and having various malfunctions but with the intense EMF in the cellar this could be one explanation. It could also be the reason why everyone complained of headaches and nausea.

Towards the end of the evening one team member had to leave the cellar and one was pushed from behind. She picked up on a very angry cavalier at this time.

The other things picked up during the course of the evening by numerous people was the strong smell of sewerage. The idea that the location had been badly flooded was also prominent to a couple of people.

The end of the evening was a very exciting time as the reports were discussed it came to light that a few people had had the same names and experiences. Also the historical report also showed some fascinating things and 90% of the names and events picked up could be verified. Some of these such as dates and events of deaths that were reported on site were exactly correct, which was astonishing for the group.

We do wish to offer our sincere thanks to Rick for allowing us to investigate. It was a great night and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in a building which has had a varied and exciting history and we do hope to return again in the future....
